This one is a top notch Kenyan. The elite of all coffees! The citrus acidity will show at any roast point. Great super clean and super sweet front end with hints of cranberry, tangerine, and citrus/floral with a little slight classic herbal note. The undertone is quite chocolaty but I will have to balance it out with the roast otherwise the lighter tones will hide a lot of the complex chocolate.
Roasting Notes: I avoid super light and quick roasts. It is best to have the roast drag it out a bit for those who like the bright African coffee, a City+ roast will give me what I’m looking for. However, if I want a complex and sweet cup that has some nice balance to it – I like to slow down the roast and shoot for right before 2nd crack. This might take some practice before I have it down properly. Despite that, this first roast was fabulous!
